Sacrifice for Survival

Zhao Xiaoxing runs a steamed dumpling shop but, in her youth, ended up in prison for ten years after injuring someone while protecting her mother. Hoping for a peaceful life afterward, her world is turned upside down when a group of thugs shows up, falsely accusing her shop of being an illegal business and claiming they found worms in the food. Despite Zhao Xiaoxing and her mother Zhao Xiulian begging for mercy, the thugs refuse to back down. When Zhao Xiaofu returns from his studies and sees the trouble, he steps in to help, but ends up being targeted by the thugs. A violent confrontation ensues, and despite Zhao Xiaoxing's repeated efforts to avoid conflict, the thugs escalate the situation, smashing the shop and beating Zhao Xiaoxing. Zhao Xiaofu calls the police, temporarily scaring the thugs away. However, the landlord informs them that they must vacate the shop, and with no other options, Zhao Xiaoxing has no choice but to pack up and figure out a new plan.
