To save his younger brother's eyesight, Wu Ming designs a plan to marry Bai Qingya, kill her father, drive her mother insane, and torture her before throwing her into the sea to seize the Bai family's fortune. After being rescued, Bai Qingya fakes her own death to seek revenge. She assumes the identity of the dancer Pandora and spends ten years in hiding, approaching Wu Ming as the wife of his godfather. Through sabotaging Wu Ming's alliances and sowing discord between him and his godfather, Pandora gradually gains the upper hand over Wu Ming. She discovers that his vulnerable spot is his younger brother, Wu Chu, and the two begin to fall in love. Pandora kidnaps Wu Chu to force Wu Ming to admit his wrongs, but this leads to a misunderstanding where Wu Chu believes Bai Qingya killed Wu Ming. Wu Chu then imprisons Pandora. Wu Ming fakes his death and plans to kidnap Pandora, but Wu Chu sacrifices himself to save her, taking a fatal blow meant for her.
